A Weekly Weblog by Will Raus

After a good month of waiting, I’ve finally got my hands on all of my birthday Homestuck swag, and man is it sweet. With my birthday spoils, I ordered three shirts from Topatoco, which is now handling all of the Homestuck shirts (but not the hoodies, those are still What Pumpkin), and I also ordered three prints from What Pumpkin. The shirts came in a timely fashion, mainly because Topatoco is a great company, but there was a bit of dustup with the whole What Pumpkin thing, mainly because for a long time they were understaffed and their support wasn’t very great. Later, support got improved by switching to a new system, and I was informed that the printer was broken for the prints, which is why it took so long to get here. No harm done, it was just annoying to have to wait.

My dad bought me these three shirts off of Topatoco- Vriska's Scorpio troll shirt, Karkat's Cancer troll shirt, and Dave's Broken Record shirt. They're comfy as hell, especially the Dave one, which is nice and warm for the cold days coming up (long sleeves).

This beautiful 12x36 print features every character in the series in vibrant color, from Jack Noir at the top to the exiles at the bottom, and everyone in between.

Terezi, the ace investigator, at work with her loyal crew of dragon plushes. Click for full size.

The Scourge Sisters, Terezi and Vriska, in their various fancy outfits. Either side can be used as the top, depending on which character you're feeling at the time. Click for full size.

You can buy the shirts on MSPA’s Topatoco store, and you can buy the prints on What Pumpkin, the official merchandise site for MS Paint Adventures. They’re all great, and I highly suggest it.

There was a long time where fighting games weren’t especially popular, and kinda stopped being released. Pretty much all of the big fighting game series had stalled, and while there were still fairly decent competitive playerbases, they didn’t really have a lot of momentum. Then, of course, Capcom decided it was time for things to [...]

So the newest buzz around is the confirmation (or at least extremely strong hinting) that the upcoming crossover game, Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, will actually come out in countries other than Japan. This is a big dea,l because there have been a couple notable games that Capcom has either scrapped (MegaMan Legends 3), or [...]

I’m a sucker for good Touhou doujin games, and so when there’s an especially good one, I jump on it. This time around, it’s a pair of Touhou-related RPGs, including one that I’ve enjoyed for quite a while, and one that I’m just getting into. Labyrinth of Touhou LP – (Note that if you don’t [...]

This Sunday was my 22nd birthday, and I had a blast. The school semester just started, but luckily this year my birthday landed on a Sunday, so I didn’t have to go to class for half the day like I have in previous years, and just generally got to hang out and have fun. Usually, [...]

I mentioned a while back that I was waiting on some photos from the recent Touhou gathering, and they’re finally here! We also have a home base now! You can find all our updates and info on our Tumblr site, where we’ll keep you up to date on our plans. We’re always looking to see [...]

Ever since the demo for Ten Desires got released back in April, I’ve been hyped for the next major Touhou release. The last major release, Unidentified Fantastic Object, was released nearly two years ago, with a multitude of filler entries between the tw0- Hisoutensoku, the expansion to the second Touhou fighting game; Double Spoiler, the [...]

I spent this weekend down in San Jose again meeting up with my buddies from the Touhou community, and once again, had a great time. We met up at Kelly Park in Downtown San Jose, and just generally hung out, which was pretty awesome. Someone brought pizza, others brought sodas, and we had plenty of [...]

So Comic-Con came and went, and unfortunately, being a denizen of Northern California, I wasn’t able to go. (One of my buddies was there, and told me that it was a great experience- maybe I’ll be able to go with him next year.) Having never been a huge fan of the whole western comic scene, [...]

Homestuck

17 JUL

I tend to be a bit late on the culture train most of the time, and this is no different. I’d heard about Homestuck a while back, but never actually had the impetus to go read it before. Still, I came across all sorts of references to it, mainly through various forums and stuff that [...]
