Conan & Andy do Manga on the Tonight Show

This link’s a little old, but still quite relevant. I haven’t really been following Conan O’Brien since he took over the Tonight Show, but every once in a while I manage to catch it, especially when a friend lets me know that something cool is going down. In this case, this episode from the 24th of July was re-run for the Labor Day holiday, and in it  was one of the funniest things I’ve seen in a long time.

I won’t go into a lot of detail, but basically. Conan and his co-host, Andy Richter, get to go over to the headquarters of Manga Entertainment, one of the top distributors of Anime in America. While they’re there, they get to do some voice acting “work”, dubbing over some scenes from the original Ghost in the Shell movie in various amusing ways. The clip is about 6 minutes long, but it’s definitely worth a watch. I found it quite amusing, and it was a fun surprise on Monday.

Also, note the new blog system! We’re now on WordPress, which means a much slicker look. Drop a comment letting me know what’s up, about the video, or about any number of other blog or anime-related stuff. Until Next Time…

As I mentioned recently in my blog about two weeks ago, I purchased the full series of Galaxy Angel from NextDayAnime.com, and so I have had about two weeks to watch it. I just finished watching it yesterday, and I must admit that it was worth the money. Galaxy Angel is an incredibly funny and [...]

By the grace of Fansubs, I was able to finish watching the full series of Fullmetal Alchemist- all 51 episodes. While Fullmetal Alchemist was one of the few series that had a downright excellent dub track IMHO, the subtitles were good as well. I had sort of expected that the fan-made subtitles would be lower [...]

As fortune would have it, I recently started thinking about Cowboy Bebop- one of my personal favorite Anime series of all time. Oddly enough, this was the exact same time that it started airing on [adult swim] (Quote- if the [] makes us seem pretentious, it’s because we are.) pretty late at night. Better yet, [...]

“Noir- it is the name of an ancient fate. Two maidens with black hands. The peace of the newly born, their dark arms protect.” The show always opens the same way- one of the three main characters speaks this cryptic line that would set the tone for this dark show. Noir is in no way [...]

[adult swim] plays host to a number of fun, humorous, and action-packed shows. The lineup includes titles such as Fullmetal Alchemist, Ghost in the Shell- Stand Alone Complex, and Samurai Champloo (I swear, Fuu has a set of fuzzy dice on her katana…). However, behind this star lineup is a show that has passed the [...]

I very recently wrote about Trigun in my weblog. I know that there, I did a pretty fair review of it. However, I have subsequently had the fortune of being able to watch it again, marathon-style no less, and so I have been able to appreciate the series more and realize that my earlier post [...]

A while back, I realized that my desktop was boring and drab. At the time, I had begun to be an avid fan of Anime. So, I looked into finding Desktop Themes for my computer. I didn’t expect to find much, but boy I was wrong. Within the first few search pages, I found an [...]

Neon Genesis Evangelion is a celebrated Anime series. Released in 1995, this landmark Anime has garnered millions of fans, even though to this day, few can truly understand the series. I believe that it is not a series to be truly understood, but evaluated like a good novel. Nobody can know what the writer truly [...]

I recently re-watched Trigun, an Anime of great quality and depth. I first became aware of it through [adult swim] on Cartoon Network. At first glance, it seemed like a good action series, but before I was able to watch much of it, [as] took it off of their lineup. So, I took to the [...]
