ThingsAnime

A Weekly Weblog by Will Raus

A while back, when comments were still enabled, someone came and commented that they found an awesome site for purchasing Anime. Me being the skeptical person that I am, I had to see it to believe it. So I went and checked out her link, and lo and behold, it was just as good as she said. I logged on, and was amazed. They had copies of things that were impossible to find anywhere else.

The site is Next Day Anime. I won’t make this a link because I’ve included a banner below here. It’s a site that sells anything Anime-Related that you can think of. They have single DVDs, full series, Anime movies, soundtracks, and even snacks. However, that’s not the best part. The best part is the prices. Every single prioduct there is at least half off of the list price. I’ve bought two things from them already- my Noir full series, and most recently, the full series of Galaxy Angel. (note- both cost at least $60 each) Noir cost me $35, incuding shipping, and Galaxy Angel cost me $28 w/ S/H.

NDA is based in California, and thus will include sales tax for anyone in California, which includes me. The upside- takes only about three days for it to get to me. I’m not so sure about anywhere else, but it’s always been reliable for me. They also have a number of policies that make it excellent for me. One is a “lowest-price guarantee” that states that if you can find a lower checkout price, including shipping costs and processing costs, they’ll beat the price somewhat significantly. Also, if you go buy something from them, you can help me too! Simply use the banner below, or input the reseller code “nda00003131″ at checkout. I’ll get 3.5% of the money spent on all purchases made through that ID, and it won’t cost you a penny! It’ll go a long way to both helping me get more Anime to review for you as well as seeing how many people I recommend with my blog. So please, help me out and buy from them! (remember the code) Until next time…

Lowest Price and Fastest Shipping Anime in the wes..uh...east

During my travels on the internet, I found a site called Anime News Network. Now I’ve seen sites like this all the time, and so I was a bit skeptical. I figured that it would be a rather deficient site, having seen my share of ill-crafted and badly-kept sites. I was, luckily, quite wrong. I [...]

I recently learned of a way of procuring Anime called fan-subbing. Fan-subbed Anime is available for download at many different sites, and it is an excellent way of getting Anime that normally wouldn’t be available in America. Fan-subbing is a process done most often by people with good video software and either a knowledge of [...]

Last week, I talked about the Sac-Anime Con that I went to. While I was there, the Vash I was traveling with introduced me to a woman she called “Blue Saphire.” The second that I met her, I realized what it is that she does. She immediately started taking pictures of us, setting us up [...]

Recently, I bought a number of things from MegaGear- the official store for Megatokyo. They sell various things, such as art supplies (the same ones used by Fred Gallagher- artist for MT), clothing, buttons, posters, and other things. I bought 2 T-shirts and a Hooded Sweatshirt. However, this gear is not cheap… In all, my [...]

As I mentioned in an earlier installment, I bought the Love Hina Perfect Collection- All 26 episodes AND the three movie specials- Spring, Christmas, and Love Hina Again… or so I thought. Since I went on Amazon.com to buy it, I saw that the list price was $112.49, but the Amazon.com Reseller had it for [...]

Web Comics

13 NOV

The Internet plays host to many things, and manga is no different. Recently I came across a pair of manga web comics- Errant Story and Megatokyo. Even though they are posted on the web, they are still hand-drawn by the authors. The only difference is that they are posted in strip format and updated every [...]
